The amazing island of Sardinia

Sardinia (or Sardegna in Italian) is located in the center of the Mediterranean Sea, with its approximately 1800 kilometers of coastline represents, for its geographical location and its history, one of the most coveted destinations in all of Europe.

The sea of this great Mediterranean island is among the most beautiful and transparent that you can see in the world.

According to legend, God created Sardinia with his foot giving it the imprint of a sandal, hence the names Ichnusa and Sandalia attributed to him by Greeks and Phoenicians.

Sardinia compared to many other areas of Italy and Europe has two decisive advantages: a mild climate all year round and a natural environment, among the most beautiful in the Mediterranean, still largely untouched.

Sardinia rightly known for its sea, its coasts are rich in coves beaches and picturesque corners, unfortunately few know its inland areas, which perhaps represent the most genuine soul of Sardinia, a mountainous landscape often of a sour and wild beauty that preserves intact the primitive charm of the island for centuries "forgotten".

The very remote origins of Sardinia have overcome the historical testimony and are rooted in legend, just as shrouded in legend are the first inhabitants and the first buildings, the nuraghi, considered the architectural expression of prehistory Mediterranean.

Note the great and spontaneous hospitality of the Sardinians who, like all islanders, are always thirsty for contact with the outside world.

The flora: unmistakable are the scents of the Mediterranean bush that characterizes almost the entire Sardinian landscape, well distinguished are the scents of myrtle, strawberry, rosemary and wild juniper.

Also interesting is the fauna present in Sardinia with the Sardinian deer, the mouflon, the wild boar, the golden eagle, the griffon vulture, the flamingos. Famous, but now gone, is the monk seal located in the sea caves of the east coast in the past.

Those who have made the choice to visit it will not only discover that they have known one of the most beautiful and original places, but will certainly remember for a long time the experience of a holiday in Sardinia that offers its visitor also from the point of view of gastronomic and craftsmanship, with the many dishes of the shepherd's kitchen or the sea and the artistic artifacts such as carpets, baskets, ceramics and gold filigree objects.
